Great Stay at Island Gem!

We had a great stay at the Island Gem, the house was clean and had plenty of room for me and my family! It was layed out perfect for small children as well! The location was a perfect spot to the beach and town, would highly recommend renting a golf cart to get to the beach, it's not a far walk by any means but just made things easier with little ones. There was only a few downsides to our stay, a couple of the appliances were tricky to use. The oven was very confusing and there was no instructions, the keurig required special kcups we didn't bring, and the bath water upstairs never got cold (which normally wouldn't be a complaint, but with a 2 year old trying to bathe was a little tricky). Great getaway for friends and family!

The five of us brothers/cousins spent 4 days on this beautiful property. We had little interest for the town outside of a couple of meals; having not been together in a while, we were looking to fish and hang out. The rain storms and aftermath of Tropical Storm Beta had us confined on our second day; we played cards and barbecued. We spent two late evenings on the beach with a fire - it was a short walk / golf-cart drive via the boardwalk. The property is bright and welcoming, very well decorated and supplied (in the kitchen and bathrooms). Be sure to bring coffee, extra TP and paper towels to get you beyond the starter rolls depending on the length of your stay. Beds were comfortable, everything was in working order. Summer Family Trip

Island Gem was fantastic!!

Great vacation home near the Mustang Island beaches! Attention to detail in house supplies was spectacular. We wanted to play cornhole with the boards provided, but the corn hole bags were missing-that was the only small disappointing thing with the house. Wow isn't good enough ...

The house was perfect, and everything you could possibly ask for was there. The kitchen was impeccably equipped, from cork screws, to a pressure cooker, to a salad spinner ... EVERYTHING! The house looked brand new, was laid out perfectly and decorated very tastefully. Great Beach House!

We loved our stay in Port A! The property was clean and beautiful! The kitchen was large and well stocked for our party of 10. The location was close to the beach, store and restaurants. The outdoor shower and washer/dryer was a great addition to the property. One day the TV didn't work and when we contacted the property manager they sent someone right over and he fixed it so the young kids could watch cartoons after a long day at the beach. Great multi-family unit

Loved the unit and the neighborhood. The house layout was great for our group of 6 adults and 4 kids: enough seating in the living room and dining areas. The fenced backyard was also ideal. House was clean and within walking distance to the pool and boardwalk. We don't prefer the check-in method of having to pickup and drop off the key, but it's not a dealbreaker. Also, would recommend bring extra toilet paper and paper towels because the unit only provided one spare set of each. Overall, we had a great experience and would rent again. - (Jul 2019 - HomeAway)

Long weekend family getaway

The Island Gem was just as advertised! Clean, close to the beach and a great set up for multiple families. We had 5 adults, 4 teens and a toddler. The kitchen and dining were perfect for all meals, games and hang out time. The fenced in backyard was perfect for the toddler and the outdoor shower was a bonus! Truly an island gem! Perfect for three families.

We would not hesitate to book this property again. We loved the house and location - just a short walk to the beach. The house itself was clean, had everything we needed, and was spacious enough to accommodate three families. We loved the open concept, allowing us to cook and chat freely. The outside shower and patio is a plus. Note that if you choose to drive to the beach, a parking permit is required. We had a lot of gear and drove to the beach and ended up having to drive back. Fun Trip

Very Comfortable Stay!

We loved staying at this home. It was very comfortable and it had everything we needed. It was close to the pool and a nice walk to the beach. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. We love the decor and how comfortable it was. 
 
Our only recommendation maybe update the queen beds in the first floor to king size beds. 
 
It was perfect and we will def be back and stay again!

Beautiful home

Great Retreat

We are a group of seniors who meet twice a year. This property is hands down the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. There were seven of us, and everyone had her own bed. The appliances were top of the line, and the open floor plan allowed for easy conversation. The upstairs bedrooms were not as nice as those downstairs, and included two sets of bunk beds.
